We need to recognise social murder as murder.
Thousands of people die preventable deaths every day because of health insurance not covering basic measures, but people online spend more effort defending the life of one CEO, than those millions of cumulative deaths.
The unheard pleas and screams for help of millions of people are being ignored so a couple rich people can uphold their hierarchy. It’s inevitable that some of the oppressed people will crack, here it was Luigi, a rich and privileged kid, who couldn’t deal with the sort of stuff poor disabled and marginalised folk deal with every day.
But yet we also see him as a sort of symbol, standing for the collective pain we have felt, the relatives and friends who have died preventable deaths, someone who stood up and sent a message to the people causing so much suffering.
Most won’t agree with how he did it, and that’s okay, but you’ve got to admit, your “letter” comparison doesn’t make sense. He could have sent a letter, and it would have been ignored, just like the millions of pleas for help were.
@[email protected], it’s okay if you don’t understand, before I had faced widespread systemic violence and oppression by the system and watched family be mistreated and die preventable deaths, I’m not sure I would have understood either.

I agree that the current health care system of USA is basically killing people that wouldn’t need to die.
I even think, the person above agrees to that, but in many countries, the culture isn’t “this person killed xx now we have to kill the killer out of revenge!” But, “ this person killed xx now we need to think how to protect society from more killing!”
So that is what the person above is pointing out: One person shooting one other person changes exactly nothing. For real change, there is need of organisation, agreement within the organisation on what goals , a plan for future, targeted actions like strikes, demonstrations , residence to Oppression, etc.
Maybe don’t give them a good reason to enable military, only on last resort, but before that, all Americans should just stop working at the same time and all demand the same. Prepare the list beforehand.
You think shooting someone in the back is cowardly? Imagine the kind of person who would do it from behind a desk, never even seeing their millions of victims.

ah yes, writing a letter. just like the millions of people that UHC
murderedwrote letters to.UHC and many other health insurance companies in the US will and do let people die in order to keep profits. Brian Thompson was complicit in this process. His murder is fully justified.
I don’t want a future where murder and violence is the only way to bring issues to light, but when governments, regulations, and other protections fail us, people get desperate. They are left with no other choice.
He is not a hero. This man is an ALLEGED hero.
Somebody literally decided to let Luigi live in pain.
Those somebodies also decide that live saving treatment is out of scope because they want a bigger bonus.
Without celebrating murder, absolute monarchy would be much more common
You can argue that this specific case is bad, but you cant say that violence is never the answer
