So many of these guys working as contractors say they pay like 3% tax. I generally paid about 22% because I didn’t cheat. They cheat it up down sideways and twice on Sunday.
They will rationalize it whatever way they like. And yes contractor employment can and is commonly abused so your employer in all but name doesn’t have to pay payroll taxes. In my state that was 12% of the tax I owed. We were obviously getting screwed by our non employer so why not screw back is the common thing.
If assholes like Elon wreck the IRS, why should I pay? I’m going to file for an extension and pay the penalties if the IRS still exists in October.
