News lost its trustworthiness when it went both 24/7 and for profit (what company is it that owns a lot of local news now?). Many may not remember this (or were even alive at the time) but the news was once just a part of a tv station and news was paid for by the money earned from advertisements on other shows. News was also like an hour 3 or 4x a day, morning, noon, supper, and 11pm

I was young enough that I didn’t pay much attention to the news back then, but I’ve heard that 9/11 was what started the 24/7 news cycle.
It is the Trump administration’s plan, to just fuzz the media with lots of crap in order to overwhelm the media.
How funny it is that the “freedom of speech” would be weaponized to allow a fascist government to stage a hostile government takeover.
So what we gotta do is just hit, hit, hit and keep it up – it’s momentum, momentum, momentum. The opposition party is the media. And the media can only – because they’re dumb and they’re lazy – they can only focus on one thing at a time… I said, “all we have to do is flood the zone.” Every day we hit 'em with three things, they’ll bite on one and we’ll get all of our stuff done.
