Trans athlete discourse is an obvious and very tired talking point that is a favorite among transphobes and conservatives. Also I did not mention communism or libs and I’m not interested in engaging in any kind of political discourse without an intersectional lens.
Maybe the Marxist communities trying to filter people out based upon their views on queer and trans people aren’t meant for you.

You didn’t mention communism or libs, but you did reference leftist spaces and pointedly reject smug centrists.
I’m just a bit miffed by people who claim to be leftists but are actually fighting for their own personal benefit. Marxism is about a collective struggle of all of humanity against capitalism, whereas you seem entirely concerned with your own niche community, and would happily reject and block everyone that you disagree with. By all means, I have no problem with you advocating for queer and trans people. But don’t co-opt leftist spaces for your own ends at the expense of everyone else.
Obviously, I am speaking not just to you, but also to anyone else reading this comment. I wish you luck in maintaining the integrity of your echo chamber going forward, I have no desire to infringe upon your ability to use this platform, and I believe we can coexist.
You seem to be making a lot of broad generalizations about who I am and what I meant by my original post and I’m not in the business of trying to defend myself or engage in the exact type of conversation I said that I was bored of. I hope you feel it was a good use of your time
You’re not in the business of engaging with anyone who challenges or disagrees with you about anything at all. And that’s fine, you can return to your happy place. I don’t want to ruin your day, I just disagree with you about some things. Mainly that I am okay with all different types of people coming onto this platform and talking to them and sometimes arguing with them. They exist in the real world, we all have to deal with them in some way. I prefer facing it head on instead of hiding from it.
But my bad for being rude, I guess I’m kinda irritated about this whole topic and I took it out on you.
Thanks for the apology. I can and will engage with people who disagree with me on things, but there are some lines that I won’t cross for my own sanity and there is nothing wrong with that, just as you can engage in whatever discourse you’d like with the other hundreds and thousands of people who are willing. I generally prefer to save my energy for difficult conversations with people in real life, but even online I’ll engage in them too. The unfortunate part is that 95 percent of the time people don’t engage in good faith and that’s frustrating as hell so I don’t try anymore.

It’s nice when people don’t just run away from contentious discussions, but actually finish them. I feel like reddit arguments always just get more and more toxic, but in this environment people aren’t as anonymous and it feels more like talking to a real person. I’m glad you continued to engage and we could reach an understanding because I came in kinda hot 😅
yeah, I’m definitely one to get fired up on reddit and lash out due to spending copious amounts of time engaging in bad faith conversations and providing sources etc. that I just burned out…but I’m trying to come in here with the spirit of constructive dialogue instead of with guns a-blazin’ ready for a flame war lol
