You can’t really follow individuals on lemmy like in mastodon; You can subscribe to different communities, and see new posts from those communities in your personal feed.
You can lookup a user by clicking on their name: https://lemm.ee/u/[email protected] ; there you can see communities they moderator or post to, and you can subscribe to those if they are interesting to you.
