Most years I don’t buy any shoes, and I take good care of them and rotate them out, so they last me five years or more. I think I have three dressy pairs, two athletic pairs, and three regular cool guy shoes, and two sandals/flipflops. I feel like it’s too many.
I have a pair coming up on at least a decade old at this point which astounds me since they’re not a “nice” boot and only cost me about $100. I’m sure if I bought the same boot today I’d be disappointed in the drop-off in quality…

I have shoemakers in my family and they always make fun of my factory made shoes. They resole and fix their shoes for years and years.
