And the actual consequences for Trump will be…he just can’t do that. No sanctions for his illegal actions, they just aren’t allowed.

Should he not keep trying them until people are too tired to fight back, thus handing him a win?

“I think Trump is going to run again in 2024,” he said. “I think that what Trump should do, if I was giving him one piece of advice: Fire every single midlevel bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people.”

“And when the courts stop you,” he went on, “stand before the country, and say—” he quoted Andrew Jackson, giving a challenge to the entire constitutional order—“the chief justice has made his ruling. Now let him enforce it.”

He’s the president and it was an official act. That’s the end of any lawsuit against him; the movant isn’t even legally allowed to question the motive of the president, so if the president says it was an act of office and uses the tools of the office, he’s completely immune.

It’s the same reason Biden can’t be sued or criminally charged for anything done during his time as president by anyone.

Give it a few months until Republicans run out of other boogeymen to chase after. They’ll come up with some shit.
