I saw in another article what the “three line message” was:

“Application declined. Thanks for your interest. And by the way, we don’t think you’re qualified.”

And while I don’t care for the guy, as someone who’s been trying to find another job for like a fucking year, this hit me so hard.

He says he was puzzled that the party had deemed him “unworthy” or “unqualified” to run for the party in a community he’d served provincially for three decades

His previous tenure is exactly why I don’t think this guy should ever have a government position of any kind again.

I’ve done a few deep dives into the various controversies surrounding the Liberal leadership in this province (I was a bit young to understand it when it was happening) but every single time, I manage to be more shocked at how they got away with so much for so freaking long.

Pretty much the same as always in Canadian politics. The previous party was bad we’ll just ride this one till they become intolerable then go back to the other one. Any other party would be unfathomable.

First-past-the-post allows political parties to get away with too much because voters are always forced into only 2 viable options. Want to hold the liberals accountable? And you’re a moderate or a leftist? What are you going to do vote for the other guy who you disagree with more?

Support proportional representation if you want to hold the establishment politicians accountable.
