Here’s the waterfall we have in our fish pond! After some suggestions from people, I’m going to actually do some editing of the photos before posting them now! This one just has the contrast slightly boosted.

Exposure Settings:

Aperture: f/9 Shutter Speed: 1/160s ISO: 800 Focal Length: 84mm

Information:

I have to post one picture every day, I can take pictures in advance, in case I’m unable to take a picture for whatever reason (vacation, weather, idk) but I still have to post once per day.

I can’t post pictures of the same thing within like, a week or two, idk, I might get rid of this “rule” if I feel like it.

Oh hey, before anyone asks, this is definitely inspired by that one guy who took a screenshot of the games he played every day.

Don’t be afraid to give me any feedback on any of my pictures, I’m still veeery new to photography and would love any feedback given.

Gear:

Canon EOS Rebel t2i

18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 EFS zoom lens

55-250mm f/4-5.6 EFS zoom lens

For now (I have a small backlog of pics I’m gonna share) all images are originally taken as jpegs (5184x3456) with minimal compression, but I always compress and convert to webp to reduce stress on Lemmy servers and make things load better. Soonish I’ll be uploading pictures taken in RAW, processed on Darktable and GIMP, then converted to webp and compressed. If you’d like a higher (or full) quality image, just ask me in the replies or dms, I’ll happily send it when I get a chance. If you don’t specify a file format or quality, I’ll send a jpeg at 90% quality (or whatever necessary to get a reasonable file size). You can also totally ask for the version of the image before edits.

Also you’re free to do anything you want with any of my pictures, just don’t claim you were the one to take it :)

@guynamedzero Good for you! Posting daily has taught me a lot about photography and my relationship with it, not to mention learning the technical aspects required for posting.

Yeah! I figured this could be a way for me to give back to the community, y’know, stop lurking and everything. In addition, I get to share one of my hobbies with everyone here! (And learn probably a shit ton of stuff)

@guynamedzero I’ve learned a LOT from posting daily. An important lesson has been that I’m not doing it for other people, I’m doing it for myself. It keeps me focused, learning, and looking.
