Someone needs to explain this to me in very small words.

Whatever you thought of Harris or Biden, or Harris or any other Dem, there was zero reason to think that they’d cancel the nest election

You knew that Trump had already staged a coup and was an indicted felon.

You knew that it was an either/or choice.

Why wouldn’t you vote for Harris/Biden?

This is something that still boogles me. There was a clear cut side that wouldn’t have done all of this…and yet here we are. I swear when/if we get out of this mess, this part in time will be studied.

Yeah, I don’t think the article is saying people shouldn’t have voted for them in the election. It’s saying that now that the monster has arrived, they are fucking up unforgivably in not resisting it all that much or by actively helping. We have Democrats who voted to censure Al Green for yelling at Trump, for example.

This is an article about the failure of elected democrats. Just because Harris ran that God awful campaign doesn’t mean they don’t still have a job to do. Their duty to their constituents and the American people doesn’t end solely because they don’t control the presidency.

I guess they are happy now that Trump has promised to completely depopulate Gaza.

Trump is giving Putin the green light to flatten Ukraine. Somehow the genocide in Ukraine wasn’t as important.

Watch what he does, and not what he says.

He’s talking about taking over Canada and Greenland as well, and that hasn’t happened either. At this point, I think we can all agree he says a lot more than what he actually does.

Also, from the no-voting person’s perspectives, they didn’t vote for him either, so they are off the hook. From their perspective, they had no good voting options.

No. Because Trump’s actions have caused people to die in Ukraine. It’s not a vacuum where there are discrete outcomes. You have to accept responsibility for all your actions.

They tried to stop one genocide and created two.

Some would argue then that the Democrats are to blame for not offering a good candidate that people could vote for, to avoid Trump winning.

You and I could go down this rabbit hole with a million reasons why a million things happened in a million different ways, and it won’t change things.

But fundamentally, votes are earned, not given, or coerced.

That’s just playing with words, and not very well, imho.

If I’m walking down the street and see a huge hole full of sharks in front of me, I don’t need to be persuaded not to jump into the hole.

The only people who would want to jump in that hole would be people who don’t want to live, really like sharks, or want to protest the lack of pothole repair of their local streets. Though I’d imagine the local/city news channel would probably want to film that for their evening news broadcast.

Regardless of what you think, you can’t change people’s minds on how they vote, especially by trying to coerce/guilt-trip them, when you can’t see how they vote. Its up to them, not you/me.

                  Sharks notwithstanding, of course. lol

(Also, if I was you, in that scenario I’d call an aquarium to pick up the sharks, and not worry about the ethics of voting your choice vs what someone else tells you to vote for.)

I voted for Biden and Harris, but seeing the Dems move to throw trans people under the bus has me regretting it.

There is a silver lining here, though. Now that Trump is destroying the American Empire, we might only be months away from a second american revolution.
