I was driving and found myself craving some caffeinated soda. Since coca and Dr pepper are now off limits I just downed an espresso and got a (European) ice tea, but I’m wondering if there are actual alternatives

Almost every country has tons of domestic soda brands, though most of them are only available locally/regionally and some of them are probably USA-owned.

In Germany there’s Fritz Cola, Afri-Cola, Sinalco, Mio-Mio, Club Mate, Bionade, Paulaner Spezi and many more.

Yeah in France we have tons of “regional” colas but outside of Brittany (Breizh cola) and Corsica (Corsica cola) you’re not finding them in a gas station

Gas stations are definitely difficult, many of them just don’t have the shelf space for 5 different cola brands, and if you can only pick one it’s hard to justify anything but coca cola from the perspective of the gas station owner …

Yeah, I guess I’ll just settle on gas station coffee with a lot of sugar. Probably better on my stomach than cola too, but that’s a low bar to clear
