Hi all!
So, I gave my old work laptop too my nephew, who loves to play Minecraft.
I set it up with Linux and everything was running perfectly fine.
But now he came to me and said, that his account got deleted or/and all his things are gone.
Because of troubles in my personal life, I didn’t had the time to look into it myself, but I just wanted to ask here, if there is maybe a known issue with playing on Linux, as I know, that some games block Linux, because of some anti cheats aren’t working on Linux, as those anti cheats modules aren’t allowed to run in kernel space, as they would like to.
I’d be really thankful for any help here, as my poor nephew is pretty devastated, because of all the time he spent building in the game and it seems, that everything is lost…
Thanks!
Edit: because the question came up: It’s the standard Java edition
TL;DR we need to know if it was java or bedrock edition, and if he played in single player or on a server. Also, if the Microsoft account itself got banned.
Generally, minecraft does not work that way. You have one account which you use to connect to servers of 3rd parties or play in single player. The game uses no built-in anticheat, only 3rd party plugins detecting e.g. unusual movement (flying) etc.
There could be multiple issues (more or less depending on if it’s Java edition or Bedrock edition) - Mojang/Microsoft could have banned/deleted the Microsoft account itself, revoked the game on the account or specifically reset the account. Those cases are basically unheard of, except if you spam the N-word or something in chat and get reported. The other thing may be that a specific server he played on (accidentally) reset the account, due to various reasons.
Thanks for the input!
It’s the standard Java edition (updated my post)
And he is a very sweet 11 year old, so there is pretty much no possibility, that he was spamming obscenities
I’ll connect with his account myself and maybe I can see something, that he just did wrong.
But I can’t think of much…
