There was other evidence too like clothes and fingerprints, but those probably would not have been enough evidence on it’s own.
Leave your phone at home, don’t bring anything you don’t need, don’t leave any items behind, and get rid of recognizable clothing.
And keep it simple, don’t draw unnecessary attention.
You know what would be really cool? If the decent Tesla owners staged publicity stunts where they wrapped Teslas up in cotton wool or maybe like babies for protection. They could drive around all day in public like that and noone could do a thing. Ruin teslas reputation and call attention with no legal risk.
