The sync developer has been MIA for a long time (1 year or longer) and I fear it will stop working sooner or later when Lemmy instances start updating to v1.0 in future.

I use Sync because it has a nice Material you theme, is smooth, supports caching posts & media offline (also keeps the comments, posts loaded even if android reclaims memory from the app)

I can open posts, comments, and even communities in a seperate window if I choose to do so.

Anything with multi window support out there yet? I used voyager for posting. But, want sync like multi window capabilities.

I am also curious. Not necessarily the multi window thing, I’m just looking for something else that is at least actively being developed.

My app is very early stages, but it already supports web, iOS and Mac. Android will be launching in a couple weeks, and hopefully Linux not too long after that. My goal is to build a truly cross platform lemmy app and one that doesn’t feel like it’s designed primarily for small or large screen sizes but rather takes advantage of the space available. Offline support is already decent, and multi account imo is more intuitive then other lemmy clients.

Summit gets updates all the time. Thunder and Jerboa are also actively developed. Boost for Lemmy hasn’t received an update in awhile, but the dev mentioned he’s working on updating it. I like Boost personally.

Boost is a great alternative if you don’t use gestures. Summit is promising and the dev seems very responsive and active. It’s the app I personally have the highest hope for should Sync stop working, though it’s not at parity yet of course. But the dev seems open to feature requests.

Thunder has been a bit janky and buggy for me but it has potential. Its GitHub is open for both issues and pull requests I think.
