Hello everyone. I’d like to upgrade my aging Netgear R7000. I have a fairly large house (3 floors plus basement) that has wired cat6 in several locations on each floor. it’s a old house with thick wall (plaster plus modern sheet rock on top).

I’m undecided whether to get a mesh setup such as buying 2 or 3 TP-Link AX6000 AX70 and setting the extras as access points, or a mesh system like the TP-Link Deco or Google Nest mesh?

I would also like to hardwire a few computers that have 2.5/10gig Ethernet ports for a NAS. so i think i would need a switch/hub, too.

any recommendations? on which option would be best for maximum WiFi speed and coverage? i have 1.5 gigabit internet.

I’m leaning to buying the TP-link routers and run the extras as access points. should i buy all identical routers, or can I buy the AX6000 as main and maybe the AX1600/3000 as access points, any downside to this? Alternatives to TP-Link, anything "better? Don’t mind spending little more. I’d like to stay away from Netgear as every single device I’ve purchased from them has failed after a few years.

looking for recommendations on a good reliable switch as well.

Thanks in advance.
