I know getting your mugshot taken isn’t exactly a joyous experience but why can none of them pull off a neutral “I’m not guilty” face? Like it’s either weirdo smiles or murderous glares. Just make a plain face like you’re at the DMV.
Uhh, my DMV picture looks worse than these. It looks like they woke me up from a drunk state and I have no idea what’s going on (I had to go pretty early, so was really tired and unshaven).

The idea is it reduces the embarrassment of the photo. This made the news years ago.
