Anybody have guesses on the legacy Trump’s mugshot will leave? Short term vs long term?
Personally, I think it may depend on how the election plays out next year - to a certain extent, history is written by the victor and his supporters are already rallying behind it (as pathetic as that is).
If he wins, I think it will be symbolic of the degradation of American democracy. Our near-250 year experiment will be over, and this image might as well sum that up.
If he loses (fingers crossed) it will be proof the United States and her institutions held firm against a coup and prosecuted accordingly.
