    Cars really do mess up a lot of things. My city is one of the worst in the country for pedestrian fatalities. Minimum parking laws also make so that affordable housing is more expensive.

    Anecdotally I can tell you my last apartment complex parking lot was always less than half full the whole time I lived there. Cardinal stadium takes up a massive chunk of land that’s just empty parking lot 95% of the time.

    The less pedestrian focused infrastructure in place the crappier a city gets for everyone. Urban sprawl, pointless deaths of pedestrians, and more costly transportation are just a few things that happened when a city prioritizes people having a walkable city so low.
