This instance has been upgrade to 0.18.0.
The lemmy developers have removed the built in captcha so I had to enable email verification. They will be re-implementing this feature in the next update.
Lots of new improvements in this version. The Link i wanted to share is on the lemmy.ml instance and they appear to be down at the moment. Hopefully not related to this update.

I think this is one of the pros of federation, one instance could be down but the rest of the instances can still interact with each other instead of everyone being out.
For real, it’s so funny when you’re on your instances and you see news like “Youtube down” and it’s like “huh. Well, sucks to be them” and go on drinking your tea.

I’ll continue my troubleshooting ventures later. Last night I gave clearing cache, data and even uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling another go.
It was crashing for me on load, but after updating Jerboa today it works again.

For me the pinned message doesn’t show up so there’s no overlap.
