Yeah really. Not wanting your retirement to be messed with doesn’t make you a bootlicker. There is no way Prole would financially support this guy if he had said this while employed and got fired. They would just complain about the Trump admin firing him from the safety of a computer and maybe talk about dudes balls for saying it on the job. I’ll take the thing I can exchange for food and shelter over stroking someone’s resistance boner any day.

Removed for Civility huh. Just for words it’s not like I stood on a guy’s neck till he died, or shot a grandma who was boiling water at her stove, or kicked in the wrong door and murdered the sleeping homeowner, or routinely killed family pets, or had the highest rate of domestic violence or lied to protect my crooked co-workers when they broke the law. The police union is the only one I think should be made illegal, and cops should have to live in the community they patrol.

Did this guy do those things? I wouldn’t be surprised if he did but I have no evidence of that. And the whole point of this is WHY HE WAITED UNTIL HE RETIRED TO SAY ANYTHING. It’s so he can eat food in air conditioning with healthcare. Not about if you agree with his actions. TBH people like you make my tinfoil hat tingle. It’s almost like you are playing a part in discrediting police reform. It’s got that Russian troll farm flair.

I am so glad that the ACAB brainrot isn’t wholly consuming the lemmy community. Jesus fucking christ, I feel like I’m under fire for not subscribing to an absolutist attitude. And the sheer amount of times I’ve seen someone use it without any other context like they’ve got Tourettes.

I’m past reform into total overhaul personally. I think some departments like New York’s need to get a full clean house.

I also get so fucking sick of the kinds of twerps who post ‘ACAB’ on a post about Mr Rogers defying race boundaries with a black cop.

Sorry for the ramble, but hey, that’s what happens when shitty internet trends become suffocating.

I have similar thoughts on this. I worked on a homeless prevention coalition with county officials, the nonprofit I worked at, other nonprofits, local hospital officials, local homeless housing services officials, and the local police department, Nueces county PD of Corpus Christi, tx. The majority of police I worked with seemed to really care for the local population, homeless or otherwise. I had the misfortune of one day working with an absolute doofus of a human being. He had on big dark sunglasses(to hide how scared he was I’m sure) and carried himself in a very authority demanding demeanor. He was not helpful in any way that day when we went out to the homeless encampments to do outreach services, which is informing the public of the city and county services available to them. Most of the people I approached said, that guys a bad person he comes here and harasses us even though the city said we have until (future date) to vacate the property. I spoke with my colleagues about him on the coalition, not in a grievance form sort of way just like wow get a load of that guy! They agreed with me about their coworker and told me some other stuff that supported my judging of this person. For a long time I supported the idea of ACAB because if my coworker was doing something harmful to others I would stop them and do everything I could to prevent it. So I blamed other cops for being complicit in the practice like the ACAB idea supports. Now I hold conflicting opinions on it. I think there is a benefit of having a decent person being a public official and enforcer of the law, regardless that they choose to work alongside psychologically unfit and/or violent individuals who abuse the position. Perhaps they keep showing up to work because they work alongside them. I’m still unsure overall but I do know police save lives sometimes. I think all public offices need strict accountability.

Hate it when shitty internet trends make me uncomfortable by spreading awareness for police brutality and government corruption. Just because its true and ruining other peoples lives doesnt mean I need to hear about it.

Now I want to hear a song called “That Russian Troll Farm Flair” done as a major musical act. It should be a big, budget-straining showstopper.

What’s crazy is that there is a murdering raping police chief on the run and very little national coverage.

But now we get this coverage suddenly.

Compare this with your memory of the Christopher Dorner manhunt.

That tells me the police have him in my opinion, and the police are going to use him to murder anti-Trump people then magically capture him and he will end up in a better cell better chow better life.

So look for a spree of unsolvable killings then suddenly Grant Hardin is “caught”.

Everyone knows to bring zip tie handcuffs and duct tape to a riot.
