It’s strange how few nibbles there have been from PL teams for some of the players Arsenal wanted to sell. Kieran Tierney was one of the key players for a team that finished 8th in the PL. That means he’d be a solid starting 11 player for a team with ambitions to hit the Europa League spots. Or, he’d be an excellent player for any team that might have to worry about relegation.

Rob Holding has never been a regular starter for Arsenal, but he seems like he’d be good enough to start for a bottom-half team. He has won multiple FA cups, and has plenty of PL experience.

Nicolas Pepe isn’t worth anywhere near £70m, and never was, but there is a good player in there, it seems like he would be a starter for many lower-half teams. At this point they could easily do a deal where they only paid part of his wages and Arsenal picked up the rest. If he stays at Arsenal he won’t be used – but not because he’s no good, just because his style doesn’t match what Arteta wants.

It’s strange how in demand Liverpool’s players were when they were near the top, but Arsenal finishes 2nd and nobody wants the players Arsenal is selling.

Who would have thought that £13m for Xhaka would stand out as one of Arsenal’s better deals this summer.
