I’m really excited for the future of E-ink stuff. I’ve been to Touch Taiwan this year, and the leapfrog in color saturation for their newest stuff compared to previous year and the color e-ink monitors we see right now on the market is staggering. You can see their promotional video from the exhibition here.

Can’t wait for these to come to market!

It has its very obvious limitations, but man does it shine at what it is.

Even muted colors are a huge value add. Capability of good saturation is also nice, but to me figuring out how to get appropriate pixel density while also supporting color is the bigger deal. The tablets on the market cut resolution down too much (and are also too small for me) to support color.

Looks like the software isn’t great, and I’m not sure that’s enough resolution for that size with the way e-Ink works.

But damn do I love my Boox max for static content. I know they had debate on there on how much it reduces eye strain, but it feels a whole hell of a lot better to me. A big, high density (I think that’s a concern here) e-Ink display feels absolutely awesome to read on.

This is fantastic. I want two of these!

I’ve always wanted e-ink displays for high brightness environments
