System rebooted after running tests and doing a backup, and yep, that solved both issues! Ahhh the frontpage looks so much better.

Sunday: wake up early, put laundry in machine, get kids organised, send them to sports training, go to market, go to supermarket, go to grocery shop, pick up kids from training, hang out laundry, get brunch.
All before 11 am.
My day starts at 11am. ><
11 am is time to put in second round of laundry into the machine >.<
Then prepare whatever i can for the week’s meals. Portion out meats to freeze, pre-marinade, prepare soup.
Then nap!
Can become superdad dy huhu
After lunch then crash and nap for 90 minutes, more if circumstances allow.
Damn, that sounds hectic. Idk if I want to be a parent, knowing that
I got have more than the average number of offspring.
You just ease into it. First kid is much easier. Second kid still ok. By the third one you really have to optimise a lot of stuff.
Along the way you also learn to let go of less important details, like matching pyjamas top and bottoms).

however, the latest jerboa 0.0.35-alpha seems to have a hard requirement on lemmy 0.18, so jerboa users may also have to hold off upgrading this app if the admins decide not to upgrade lemmy yet.
Whoa so many great changes! Sadly we’ll have to wait for 0.18.1 for captcha support. I’m surprised they chose to rely on websocket in the first place though, because the standard is always using http requests. There are certain stuff that would need a websocket, but that doesn’t mean the whole system should rely on it. Using websocket creates a lot load
Too bad. They get rid of websocket which is pretty much a troublemaker for the ui, and also custom emoji!? 😮

Never would have thought that I would be having a dream of an original song created. It’s definitely new and not put there in real world. Beats are pretty good, lyrics a bit on the cheesier side. Too bad it’s just a dream so can’t remember properly the beats and lyrics.

Update on downvotes: The data is stored in the database, but there’s probably reasons(which I can understand) why they don’t have this as a thing on Lemmy.

Hmm is it just me, or is there something wrong with our front page?
- Some of the stories on my Active view are as much as four days old, even though there are tons of posts in New (and most of my Active is 2-4 days old)
- The sitewide users per week and month seem to be stuck at 67, but I know for a fact there have been new active users. E.g. yesterday I had a comment thread with someone who registered a new account just 20 mins ago and commented, and the number didn’t change in that time.
- If others are seeing this too, I might try doing a reboot or something.

This is a known bug in 0.17.x.
The new version 0.18 just released a couple of days ago supposedly fixed the issues but they removed captchas, which will be readded in 18.1.I suggest we wait for the update with the captcha.

Hmm the other option would be to upgrade and temporarily require email signups until 0.18.1 drops. I’m suspicious about whether email is properly configured though - will try that route too.
Maybe rebooting will solve the problem for now? I checked lemmy.world yesterday and today and they doesn’t seems to have this issue.

Don’t need to be abrasive, but remind him tactfully. After a few reminders then got to ask help d. Call him his house and ask his parents to help repay you cos you need to pay for your rent and car installment. Hopefully the parents will bring the hammer down on him.
Just like the other comment, just be straight with it. Maybe can tell you needed the money for something if you feel too shy.
