Isn’t that supposed to only happen on Posts>All>New? Shouldn’t Active/Hot posts require some existing engagement before appearing?

Does lemm.ee sometimes sync with federated instances, which is when new content floods en masse?

This is one of the experiences I’ve had that makes Lemmy feel far more janky than reddit.com/r/all

It’s just a bug with the way the software was coded, but there’s a currently rolling out update that fixes it. Hopefully our glorious lemm.ee admin will be able to upgrade us to a new version soon. Hang tight :)

It’s a feature they didn’t think through not a bug

Oh thank whateverdeity. This is driving me crazy. It’s nearly constant for me. It’s almost unusable unless I go subscribed subs only.

That’s great news! I was worried this was “working as intended, won’t fix”.

I think you’re thinking of the fix that prevents couple days old posts from showing up in active? That fix is already implemented in this server, and might be what’s causing very new posts to show up instead

if you notice the dates its not actually new content, its just all the content of a given community regardless of age

Do you know more about the detail of what prompts it?

Would it be wrong to guess it’s whenever a lemm.ee user subscribes to another instance’s community?
