Sorry dunno if this is the correct place to ask, but get an error whenever i try uploading an image in a post or try setting my pfp.
“SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data”
I’m getting the same error uploading pictures too from my iPad the past hour… picking a resize option seems to work around it

Likewise here. Server response is a 503 with a boilerplate nginx error page in HTML, which explains the JSON error:

Not yet. The Lemmy growth has caught us by surprise, right when we’re both distracted with a new relationship, so we’re still working those things out.
We’re quite ok even without donations though, so we’ll take the time to do it in a way we’re both happy with

I registered before it, but r/196 recently made a post about off-site migration and mentions this instance (plus c/196, hosted here) https://www.reddit.com/r/196/comments/146y2qw/r196_offsite_migration_discord_info/. So that definitely explains the increased load. Hopefully yall will be able to weather it well. Honestly, I am enjoying being here, I am glad this exists.
Put it this way. We’ve been running blahaj.zone (the Calckey/Hajkey instance) for over 6 months now. It’s the 4th largest Calckey instance on the fediverse.
We’ve been running Lemmy for almost as long, but for most of that time, it’s just been me active on the instance. Yet in the last week and a bit, our lemmy instance has grown to be bigger than our Calckey instance! And we’re not even on the front page of lemmy instances in terms of size. There are dozens larger than ours!
The #threadiverse growth is going off right now!
So - its just not possible to upload pictures right now…?
