Hello,
I’m a reddit refugee and used to rif. I particularly liked it because the design made it possible to read a lot of text without scrolling too much. I’d like to have the same experience here, but the two things I mentioned in the title impede that.
-
I can change the font size, but the size of the thread titles in the feed is smaller than the font size of the comments, so I can choose between titles being too small or comment texts being too big. It would be really nice to adjust them separately.
-
I feel there is a lot of empty space before and after texts, UI symbols etc. I really liked the “density” of rif. I get that a lot of people prefer the opposite, but maybe it’s possible to also make that individually adjustable?
Oh and I’m using the android app.
Btw, off topic, but I’m kind of getting exited about all of this. I felt that reddit was one of the last spaces that wasn’t completely messed up by corporate interest and I hope the whole fediverse thing will be a sustainable replacement. Keep up the good work!
#1 looks like a known issue https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues/373 has a good discussion about it, feel free to chime in there as well
You’ll get most frequent updates with F-Droid and the IzzyOnDroid repository:

Font size mismatch has been fixed with the last update.I agree, it has too much whitespace. But it seems it’s done with portrait handheld users in mind. I practically always use it in landscape mode where there is yet more empty space.
Well lol I guess. I woke up to the new version and my first complaint is indeed solved :)
Added the repository anyways, thanks for that.
