What do you mean? I don’t automatically count criticism of America as tankie. There’s lots and lots of that on all instances, and I’m all for it. I count tankie criticism of America as tankie.

But we’re taking about how to recognise s tankie and your answer requires us to know they’re a tankie first.

And your motion is, what? that simply holding beliefs that get you labelled as a tankie means you don’t get any chance to express yourself in any way? Even if you say something completely accurate and pertinent to the conversation that’s still bad?

Tankie I use as shorthanded for in favor of authoritarian ‘communism.’ I didn’t say they are accurate and definitely not correct, just they have reasoned arguments. Yes I think it’s not great to engage with them and give them a platform even if they are reasonable. It’s not universally bad, and I’ve had some good conversations with some. It’s not good for my mental health to see them and feel the need to respond. I feel the need to respond because otherwise people might become radicalized like them. Since we don’t have enough time and people to answer every misinformation fully, I think we should minimize the misinformation from tankies even if it is well reasoned.
