    That KKK Story is horrifying to read. That the racist government institutions failed the Tulsan blacks so badly that the military was sent to intervene! And the terrible things they did too with rape and beatings! It’s like a different world! And yet we’re only a hundred years from them.

    Interesting to see the racism of the paper is still reflected when they depict a gunfight with the “giant negro” as if he were an out of control beast.

    Never knew that Mussolini went and started stuff with Greece in 1923. I didn’t know he was in power that early.

    Interesting to see the anti-immigrant rhetoric too calling them radicals to ruin America and crowd out your children from their schools. That never happened. 100 years later and I question the logic of the American free market economy being unable to keep up with demand for schooling. It makes a little more sense if you go to poorer countries and see that Americans are generally privileged in the world economy.

    Japan had a true tragedy after the Earthquake. It’s odd to think they became so brutal only ten years later
