From North Bay through Ottawa-Gatineau to Montreal the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is again over the top of its range at 10+.

Athletic events and St. Jean Baptise events are being canceled.

We had 20+ for a couple of hours yesterday here in Sudbury.

I thought the rain would help but it barely rained.

It was pouring last night in the Valley, but it didn’t seem to do much for the smoke… still here this morning :(

The levels did drop significantly overnight in Petawawa but still extremely high. Pouring rain for about half an hour this morning didn’t seem to have any effect…

Wow, I didn’t think the AQHI reported numbers above 10+.

We’d been hoping for a rainy Saturday in the Ottawa Valley too.

It does on a section under the graph. It’s not 10+ right now but this is where it reports the actual index.

Yeah the website doesn’t show it but the PurpleAir map does if you go there… you can also switch to the US EPA 2.5 scale and others as well.

Gave the house a good cleaning yesterday and caught up on some TV.

Montreal was pretty insane yesterday. The air pollution was barely tolerable, yet everyone who was outside was acting like nothing was going on. Some people would sit on terraces and some bars had their windows open wide. That was pretty wild.
