“Portland” police are largely non-local (IIRC >80%), and that’s compounded by the leadership purposefully lessening coverage in a shitty attempt to “show” City Hall they deserved more money, respect, etc. The latter was recently admitted in an interview, FFS. 🤦🏼♂️

I think I remember the same statistic about how many were actually not from Portland. I also remember reading a piece that said while PPD claims their budget was severely slashed over the years it was actually the opposite, but wasn’t able to find another story for confirmation. I did not see the interview about them lessening coverage, but I had suspected they would do something like that 😒
I think society still needs some type of police force but would agree these clowns need to go and someone more competent needs to be there.
