Trans day of remembrance is November which is a day of mourning those lost to suicide and hate crimes, and for reaching out to those who may not be in a safe place themselves.
I agree with OP in the sense that November probably would’ve been more appropriate, yet at the same time, considering it coincides with Thanksgiving, it would probably put some trans people in a more uncomfortable space around the holidays.
November also has a lot of awareness around men’s health issues, so not always the most appropriate to combine with trans remembers. I can see a lot of in between fighting between them. A bit similar to if it was placed in October, with the big focus on women and brest cancer.
August is a better month in that regard as it is more neutral.
