Very good article detailing the end of “Peak TV” and a big factor on why their is a Writer’s Strike going on in Hollywood (lack of residuals in streaming shows).
A bit bleak if you’re hoping for television output to stay the same as pre-pandemic levels. But we’ve all got tons of shows we still haven’t gotten around to, so the slowdown in productions of new shows shouldn’t feel very dire to anyone but Hollywood Writers, Directors, and Actors.
The hope is that quality replaces quantity. A lot of unwatchable shit was made for TV the past few years.
