The fact that it hasn’t happened earlier baffles me.
While a collective uprising and a total democratization of Russia would be the ideal end to the war, I feel a realistic end is someone like Prigozhin or Shoigu stepping in and taking over is far more likely.
This kind of friction between Wagner and the Russian army is a promising start.
Prigozhin in Putin’s place is a bit of a nightmare scenario. You go from lawful evil to chaotic evil.
This is not going to end well, I think, for both the private mercenary companies and the Russian MoD. Excellent timing as well, with the Ukrainian counteroffensive and all.
Gosh it’s almost like military services that are loyal to individuals are a bad idea. If only we could have known… Sorry who is Gaius Marius?
