Seems to be a somewhat common trend, cons saying they don’t trust the government.

The left the lesser of 2 evils. I don’t need rules telling me who to have sex with or what books to read and how much tax cuts they can give the rich. Still waiting on that trickle down. Hungary’s far right push is quite scary. The government is just rich people trying to get money.

What rules or proposed rules are dictating who you can sleep with or what books to read?

Your tax break comment makes no sense, more government control is the government seizing less of a person’s income? Are you in favor of a flat tax?

    I’m gonna assume you’re American.

Doubt this is a partisan thing. Have a hard time imagining the left trusting Biden more or less than the right trusting Trump.

Now “Trumpers” don’t trust the government and when Trump was your president my impression was that “leftist” didn’t trust your government.

    Y’all ain’t special

the left overwhelmingly wants the government to take more of my money

This is a sweeping generalization. The way to move forward on budget is to stop wasting so much money on corporate bailouts, the military, and to actually fix our shit show of a tax system so that the rich pay their fair share. If we did so, we would have more than enough money to fund the social programs the left wants while decreasing taxes/heathcare costs.

take more control over private enterprise.

Corporations have proven themselves unable to self regulate. They poison our land, water, and sky. They pay poverty wages. They pay executives hundreds of times as much as average workers. They hoard their stolen wealth in tax free, offshore accounts. They price gouge and monopolize. They lay off workers without a second thought. They intentionally make commodities and basic necessities scarce to drive up prices. And they do this all while bribing politicians to keep things this way.

So damn right they need to be controlled better. They can’t be trusted to be ethical or sustainable, so they must be regulated.

What counts as an “honest user” then? Because I don’t see how such a term could be anything other than subjective/arbitrary/unknowable. You’re never going to know somebody’s intentions based off of internet comments.

I’m being civil, not spamming, etc. I’m following the rules.

How dare they point out obviously incorrect statements with relevant citations? Cons seem to hate it when reality contradicts their ideology… and unfortunately far too many choose to abandon reality to resolve tension caused by this cognitive dissonance.

The whole point of this thread is about which side is worse in terms of government trust. Whataboutisms don’t automatically apply here, especially because you didn’t actually support your claim with any examples, so I picked one.
