Smartphone racer Mario Kart Tour will receive its final content update next month on 4th October, Nintendo has announced.

After that date, the game will remain playable - and simply recycle content already in the game.

Mario Kart Tour originally launched for iPhone and Android devices four years ago, back in September 2019, and soon became one of Nintendo’s most lucrative mobile launches.

With the Switch 2 rumours and 8 Deluxe ending it’s DLC soon I imagine it won’t be long before MK9, maybe even a launch title for the Switch 2 depending on when it launches

Yeah tbh, what else does MK and Super Smash Bros have to offer besides a bigger roaster?

Nintendo nailed it with both titles.

True Mario kart 8 is peak Mario kart. I feel like they’re either going to keep adding content to it or do something new with the franchise like double dash did.

I can see a new launch game for the switch 2 in the works.
      It would certainly makes sense.

This is the mobile game rather than one for console. There could be one for Switch 2, but they haven’t even finished the DLC pass for 8 yet so it’s likely a ways off.

This is the mobile game, not the Switch one. They’re still launching periodic DLC as part of the pass for the latter.

There’s only 1 more wave for the booster pass until it’s done and that’s confirmed to be coming before the end of 2023
