Thanks for the question! I’m open to doing so, but I’m reluctant for a few reasons:

    1. I’m the only moderator(and so far the only contributor) here, and I don’t have the bandwidth to contribute sources or analysis at the rate of the reddit megathread.

    2. The megathread over at CD basically choked out all the other posts, including those not related to the war effort. I’m still trying to build out the identity of the space, and am concerned that people will just see this space as for Ukraine discussion.

    3. Right now, I feel the Ukraine lemmy still has a good enough signal-to-noise that a more credible alternative is not necessary.

If it’s something people feel would add to the value to the website, I’m willing to try it out though. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Edit: To be clear, though: discussion about Ukraine in the context of a post is 100% fine and always will be. Please feel free to submit and comment on credible, noteworthy articles as you please(following the rules about submission statements ofc).

I completely understand. We probably still need some more people joining and contributing before we can see how it’s developing.

Probably best to have discussion centered around posts for now. Gives people something to spring off of.
