This temporary and because of a fault in the fuel system on the combustion engines on the bikes, rather than anything more grand.

        Pity.

I know BMWs aren’t in this demographic but I fucking HATE loud motorcycles and the retarded people who ride them.

I ride motorcycles. I also had the luxury to drive in a electric car.

Electric cars are so quiet, it’s terrifying.

On a motorcycle, I’m frequently forced to drive defensively as cars don’t see me. The loud noise is one mechanism to help with visibility. And if I ever get a electric motorcycle, I’m definitely getting a system to create that sound. Because a silent motorcycle terrifies me.

Do you rev bomb those people or do you use the audible warning device next to the blinker switch? All the loudpipe boys I know speed past traffic so fast that anyone listening to music on the highway would never hear them approach anyway. Somehow all of them think a loud exhaust saves lives but never use (or upgrade) the horn. I can’t hear a car approaching from the rear so we all have to visually check, right? Drivers will check or they won’t. I don’t trust someone who doesn’t properly visually check their blindspot to identify the sound of a bike and check better. I expect them to still suck because they’ve proven they still suck. One of my bikes came with a loud exhaust and I still get cut off and merged into. You can’t hear the engine of a normal 70mph car approaching anyway, you just hear the tires and wind noise. Add into that how bikes make most of us ride 10-20mph faster than we drive a car and it’s a recipe for increased conflict. I love that exhaust because V4s have a glorious tone, but I’m not going to beleive the muffler does anything but make me smile, upset dogs, and scare pedestrians. Cars still merge into me, cars still pull out on me, cars still bully me. My bike is yellow, my jacket is white and fluoro yellow, my headlight is hard wired, my helmet is white, my exhaust is loud, and my head is on a swivel. The only thing keeping me upright is me expecting the worst

Most of the time you cannot hear a motorcycle until it is beside you or in front of you.
