I saw that post. And, a while later, I tried lemmy out. But it was dead then. Like, days between any posts or comments, so I didn’t do anything with it.
I heard about it last year when I was getting into Mastodon during all the Twitter drama. When I visited, it was a ghost town. Glad it took off now though, I’ve been looking for an excuse to jump off reddit for years.
It’s amazing the explosion in stuff from when I joined to now. We also have to give credit to all the people running Lemmy and kbin instances. They all did amazing things to keep/get things running during an explosion of user growth. Given how fast things changed for them, I’m sure they’re going to need a cup of coffee or something, so you all should try and throw a $1 or $10 to their respective donations bin. It will help in the long run. If we want this to make it, we have to support it.
Three years already…I bet 99.9% of current users, myself included, didn’t know that Lemmy existed two weeks ago
I learned about Lemmy at the time I joined kbin and went to kbin because of all the things I found about the Lemmy creator.
I only found out 2 weeks ago about lemmy lol not gonna lie
e: I didn’t know about the fediverse either!
