The oldest surviving torrent we have seen is a copy of the Matrix fan film "The Fanimatrix." The torrent was created in September 2003 and will turn 20 years old in a few days.

How can I have missed this masterpiece?

i have watched the matrix + animatrix movies almost a hundred times and yet I was missing fanimatrix? Unbelievable.

Is there a follow up on the guys who did the movie?

Exceptional quality for low budget and that time.
