    I can already tell that this is a failed proposal because it doesn’t address the reasons why those stores left the city to begin with. The city has been ignoring its crime problems for decades now and it’s starting to affect the growth of the city. These city owned stores are not only going to be inefficient and expensive to run, but they’re still vulnerable to the same issues that drove out the other stores. Maybe it’s wiser to figure out how you can bring down the crime rates and make Chicago a desirable place for people and businesses to move in again
