I patterned it all from scratch, too!

Sewn both by hand & machine. Has a velcro closure on the front of the neck! Also super light, so your head & neck won’t hurt while wearing it (I’m very proud of that)! I lined the mouth with soft fleece and the inside of the head with satin. It’s really comfortable!

It’s not a mask, so you can’t see out of it if you pull it over your face!! It’s meant to be worn more like a hood.

If you have any questions about how it was made, feel free to ask!

Black fur is really difficult to photograph… it looks better in-person!

Looks fantastic! Do you have something in mind for it? Or just a fun project?

      Thank you so much!

I actually had this project hanging around since last year… but since it’s nearly Halloween, I figured this was the time to finish it.

This actually v2.0 of one that I had made last year, but I wasn’t super satisfied with it, so this is the “new and improved” version.

I actually wanted to keep it for myself to wear for fall/winter weather, but I’m pretty strapped for cash right now, so I’m gonna try to sell it. Maybe I’ll make a v3.0 for myself, one day!

      Oh, it’s nice and cozy!

It’s fully lined, so it’s meant to be used as kind of a hat/hood/scarf combo. I’m sure it could potentially be modified to attach to a piece of clothing, though!

I definitely would, if people are interested.

I currently only have base patterned for big cats and wolves/canines right now, though. But I’m sure I could mod the canine base to be a fox or something.

What kind of creature did you have in mind? (If not a black lion)

It’s really hard to get something like this not looking like bad taxidermy, and I really enjoy the slightly cartoony (but not in a goofy way) eyes! I can imagine this being amazing to wear for someone playing a barbarian in D&D or LARPing.

I actually had things like LARP & ren faires pop into my head when I was thinking about what kind of goober besides me would like this!

Thank you! It’s definitely a difficult balance to have creatures look good without looking too uncanny.

That looks so nice and warm! Can imagine it’ll keep you very well protected in the winter days :)
But I guess it’s not very weatherproof?

Anyway, great job! I love it :)

Oh, it would keep you cozy, for sure!

It’s not “weatherproof”, per se, but the eyes won’t be damaged by the elements, the nose has been meticulously sealed, and the faux fur can be dried pretty quickly when hung up & stored properly. The only different thing that may have to be done is to comb/brush through it as it dries.

      Thank you!
