I’m sure many have this problem of, what do I buy for the person who has everything I can already afford? 'cause I have that problem now. My dad has gone deep into 3DPrinting in his retirement (he handed me down my Ender 3). He’s got both an Ender 3 and a resin printer, tho I can’t remember what model.

I was hoping to pick the hive mind for some useful 3D printing related ideas that won’t break the bank. Some useful utilities that maybe I hadn’t thought of. I’d really appreciate any help.

Filament or spare parts is imo always an option (at least that’s what I tell people who want to get me something). Otherwise ask if he has any plans regarding upgrades etc. and get him an upgrade kit?

A wash & cure station for his resin prints would be a good idea of he doesn’t already have one. Mine really stepped my game up & I consider it an incredibly useful utility.

For his Ender I think some utilities like the Mintion Beagle camera or a filament dryer are very useful but also aren’t everyone’s first thought for an upgrade. Good luck!

Resin 3d printing accessories I wish I’d bought earlier:

    • Screen Protectors (you don’t know how much this matters until your vat leaks)
    • Flex Plate (much better than having to scrape off large prints)
    • UV LED torch (to help repair parts that snap when you take them off)

Hmm. Maybe some safety equipment for the resin printer? A decent respirator and a box of nitrile gloves shouldn’t set you back too much, knowing how older folks can be, it’s possible the respirator “shell” he’s using, if it’s one of those 3M ones like a lot of people use, is worn out- they’re meant to be replaced every so often. Giving the gift of healthy lungs sounds like a winner to me!

Some nice novelty filament might be nice. I know I usually skimp out on the filament. Maybe a matt metallic or a dual or triple color change filament?
