Doesn’t feel like the landlord should have any right to complain as long as the rent gets paid. He’s just mad that someone else is doing the same thing he is.

There can be rules about subletting on the lease, as well, the renter abusing the system for ABNB is likely to not be doing any vetting of renters.
The landlord should have vetted better before renting to a landlord.
