I’m more into vintage Japanese but I 've owned an E36 M3 and loved driving it (hated the repairs).

I think the E30 M3 is the perfect BMW (for me).

      what models of japanese cars?

i bet that e36 was sweet. if you don’t love turning wrenches every week, it can get quite annoying to keep them up to date.

e30s are fantastic. sad to say that i owned one and made a dumbass decision to get rid of it… 1991 318i in brilliantrot red… let’s not talk about that one lol

I’ve owned six different early 90s Hondas. The 95 Integra GSR was my favorite of those. The 5 speed combined with a high revving engine is so much fun.

I haven’t owned any Toyota cars (had a Tundra) but I would consider an of their RWD models.

My current car is a lifted Subaru Legacy. I don’t go off-roading just like the ability to jump curbs.

Thank you for keeping this on the road!

We still have a 1993 e34 525td with (I think) over 500k km on it. It is not road worthy but I couldn’t get rid of it either. I am conflicted to put another diesel on the road at this time so I guess it will sit there for a while longer. It is a very very nice all-rounder that communicates very well to the driver.

    Keep it running :D

i bet that td is a beast! i’ve been thinking about looking into a newer diesel bmw myself.

sitting next to my beamer in the driveway is a 1980 mercedes 300td i inherited, so i am keenly aware to diesel’s drawbacks. what was once cheaper than gasoline is now close to $5 a gallon for the past couple years, so it’s just been sitting.

both vehicles are great, the td is naturally aspirated though and slow as shit :-)

It was a 1990 735iL. It was in pretty rough shape unfortunately and I didn’t have the $$ to bring it back. I did make it better than when I got it though.

I found a brand new BMW OEM differential to replace the blown one it had. Had the fuel tank fully resealed, cleaned up some wiring, etc. But the AC system was completely missing and the body work was pretty rough.

Someone else ended up buying it from me and planned to take care of it so I’m hopeful it still drives!
