Edit: Let me be more clear, from revanced manager app you can patch Reddit, twitter and TikTok app. Hence, Reddit revanced.
It would be more hurtful to not use reddit at all. Lower user count will mean less advertisers willing to pay for their ads on reddit.
Seconded - I am going to be logging off entirely, hoping to switch to here for main use
Yes, this. They are intensly watching the daily user count and other metrics.
reddit revanced app? Is this a new 3PA that doesn’t use the api?
Check here for some options depending on your device. https://champagne.pages.dev/piracy-guides/reddit-no-ads/
Revanced (successor to YouTube Vanced) modifies the first party app to tweak things, like disabling ads, while still being “official” as far as the servers are concerned. It was originally just for the YouTube app but they’ve added others, including the Reddit app.
It can’t fix all of the UI issues, the tweaked Reddit app is still pretty awful to use. But it’s an option for folks that still want app access but don’t want them to see ad money from it.
Via. Revanced manager you can patch existing Reddit app.
normally, their app is plagued with ads and custom icons are locked. I’ve used the official app patched with revanced and that makes it usable, but still sucks, especially with videos. I’m trying to view and post more content here instead.
Excuse me?
Probably won’t hurt them any more than using a 3rd party app did. Which is to say, not much.
