I took a cheeky little jaunt in between loads of laundry and found this cool spot on top of a mountain. Riding the ridge line was a ton of fun.

How does that get around on the dirt? I have always been curious about the capabilities of the Versys.

Its actually pretty solid. The factory tires are its biggest weakness. Regardless, I had it out on some gas line trails about a week ago and it did great. Even with the high revving twin cylinder, I was just tractoring along everywhere without issue. The one time the tires slid out and I dropped it, I was able to pick it up by myself with surprisingly little effort. I havent run into any situation yet where ive thought “I need a better bike for that”. I love this little screamer lol

Interesting I never would have thought that busy twin would tractor. Do you have a bash plate on it? If I ever dump the KLR I was wondering how it would do fire roads.

It did great at low rpm with just the tiniest bit of throttle applied(about 2.5-3k rpm). It never bogged on hills or anything and I was able to engine brake on the downward slopes with very little actual braking. I never even bothered turning off the ABS. The bash plate and crashbars are both from TRex Racing. The plate is their heavy duty model. I havent been able to do anything but scratch either of them so far. The only damage has been to my knee from hitting the bars while stepping off the bike in a parking lot lol

Ha yeah fair enough. Where I live, this is about as big as they get. I would love to take a trip to the Western US and ride some of the mountains and deserts out there, but I got limited PTO and bills to pay. :(
