https://lemmy.ml/c/[email protected] Or [email protected] is the community I’m talking about.

Seems to have gathered more people. Don’t know why, but in these quickly changing times chance is probably a big factor.

No reason multiple communities can’t survive, but realistically, as we know from Reddit, one will often dominate.

Sorry for the mod here if they were keen to start a community. From what I understand, moderators of a community need not be all on the same instance, so maybe you could help out over on lemmy.world. It seems they might want it too.

Lemmy.world should be a stable instance as it’s run by @[email protected] who runs a number of instances including a fairly large mastodon one.

The mod hasn’t been active on Lemmy for more than 3 years and never posted here… I agree the other community is more active and we should move over and consolidate

Oh my … didn’t realise this about the mod. Yea, time to bail on this community. Without a mod it is basically dysfunctional or would have become once more users got here. They could hand over the moderation, but they’re not here anyway.

Still, you seemed pretty active here … hope you find a place over on [email protected]

no problem at all actually, I don’t really care where I post/comment as long as there is a community and I can share my thoughts with others… also, the folks there have been welcoming so it’s all good

I would have joined here, but the operator of the lemmy.world instance seemed to be better equipped to handle the uptick in traffic. I don’t mind moving here, but definitely come join us if that makes more sense (larger community and active mod over there)

Yea, lemmy.world is probably a good place to put big communities as you say. It’s run by an experienced admin of a large mastodon instance and other instances too.
