I stopped F1 dead when they had that shambolic season with Hamilton and Verstappen. Where they took turns to bend the rules for them, just so fans would not get bored. All in part to keep the Saudi’s happy.

I’m British and I was still super bored of Hamilton winning pretty much every race long before that!

I would have liked to have see him beaten Schumacher’s record just for the kudos. But even then I could see that they (the FIA) were taking the piss and manufacturing results in that season.

Still doesn’t beat my biggest disappointment in F1. My wife and I did 5 Silverstones and a trip to Milan and never once saw a British winner. Monza has to have been the biggest kick in the teeth. Hamilton won the previous races there. It looked like his strongest race. He managed pole yet again. A shocking start which he never recovered from left him out of the running.

      The prosecutor seems quite friendly

“As of July 7 2015, Mr Ecclestone did not know the truth of the position, so was not able to give an answer to the question.

“Mr Ecclestone was not entirely clear on how ownership of the accounts in question were structured.

It was only $650m, easy to forget who the beneficiary is /s

Hey he can’t be expected to know about the location of all his billions. And he keeps his records in an old notebook under his mattress. Not like any accountants or financial experts were involved.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Ex-Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has pleaded guilty to fraud after failing to declare more than £400 million of overseas assets to the government.

On 7 July, 2015, the billionaire failed to declare a trust in Singapore with a bank account containing around $650 million.

Before his guilty plea, he had been due to face trial in November on the single fraud charge.

“As of July 7 2015, Mr Ecclestone did not know the truth of the position, so was not able to give an answer to the question.

“He therefore did not know whether it was liable for tax, interest or penalties in relation to amounts passing through the accounts.

“Mr Ecclestone recognises it was wrong to answer the questions he did because it ran the risk that HMRC would not continue to investigate his affairs.
