A BBC Studios spokesperson says it has "sincerely apologised to Freddie" who was seriously injured in the crash while filming for the TV series.

I was pointing out that just 40 years ago it was a tremendously popular and largely I controversial show. It was an example of the rapidity with which attitudes can change. That is all
