We just don’t smell the rot yet. It’s not about the actual body (website) and the name. It is about the spirit, the personality. And that has been compromised and killed off because of factors one could call enshittification or whatever. Digg and Tumblr still exist, at least in name, but not in spirit. I think Reddit has past that threshold. It will be a slow death and I am not sure the fediverse will fill the void it leaves behind. But I do think and believe communities will never sustain on venture capital.

I haven’t seen any beans, just a handful of people complaining about them. Perhaps unsubscribe from the meme communities for a bit if it’s a problem?

Not disagreeing, but I just looked at the top 10 posts over the last 12 hours. 2 were a reference to beans. I downvoted, hid the posts, and moved on. This comment is the most time I’ve spent on it. The above poster seems to be overly concerned.

Maybe the posts that show up in /all differ from person to person? I don’t know. They don’t bother me too much, but depending on the day/time of day, I’ve seen a number of them come up back to back. I do enjoy a good meme so I happy to see that community thriving here.
